Enhancing Sustainability of Asnaf Entrepreneurs Through Zakat Board: Case Study of Kedah State Zakat Board (LZNK) Online First

Abstract

This study aims to develop a strategic mapping for economic regeneration to enhance the sustainability and resilient of asnaf entrepreneurs under the Kedah State Zakat Board (LZNK). To achieve the objectives of the study, questionnaires were distributed to asnaf entrepreneurs listed on the LZNK website. In addition, a focus group discussion with experts was conducted to obtain input on innovative ideas in enhancing sustainability of asnaf entrepreneurs under LZNK. The findings from the questionnaire showed that lack of capital, the increase in the price of raw materials and the lack of equipment are the main constraints to continuing the business. The findings through the focus group discussion identified five key ideas to help asnaf entrepreneurs redevelop their businesses. This includes Qardh-based loans, equipment and cash assistance, training, marketing platforms, and monitoring. This research provides a comprehensive mapping for enhancing the recovery and growth of asnaf entrepreneurs. By addressing the identified constraints through targeted policies, support mechanisms, and strategic resource allocation, stakeholders can significantly improve the economic outcomes for asnaf businesses in the post-pandemic landscape.
