Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools

The Journal of Economic Cooperation and Development (JECD) recognizes that authors may use Artificial Intelligence (AI)–assisted tools to support certain aspects of the research and writing process. Such tools may be used for limited purposes such as language editing, formatting, or improving clarity. However, AI tools must not be used to generate substantive scholarly content, conduct analysis, interpret results, or produce conclusions without appropriate human oversight and verification. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the content submitted to the Journal. Any use of AI-assisted technologies in the preparation of a manuscript must be transparently disclosed in an appropriate section of the article (e.g., acknowledgements or methodology). AI systems must not be listed as authors or co-authors, as they cannot assume responsibility for the work. Furthermore, authors must ensure that the use of AI tools does not violate copyright, confidentiality, or research ethics standards. The Journal reserves the right to reject manuscripts where the use of AI compromises the originality, reliability, or academic integrity of the work.
